25 women who ROCK!

Betsy Ross, Pocahontas, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton. VH1 has Movies That Rock! So in the spirit of being all "whoohoo female power YEAH!", I'm gonna make a list of women who I think are the cats pajamas and why.
*Note: I only feel feministy once in a while so I figured I should roll with it now. Ok here we go, in no order of importance:

1.Oprah Winfrey. No one messes with Oprah. She is one of, if not, the most successful person on the planet. She gives to others daily, and has worked to overcome issues of race and gender in the media. Started several charities encouraging others to give to the underprivleged.
2.Janis Joplin. Singer. Songwriter. Tattoo revolution. Wasn't afraid to say what everyone else was thinkin.
3.Tina Turner. The Queen of Rock and Roll. Also, kicked Ike to the curb and still made it on her own.
4.Eve Ensler. Vagina Monolouges- stop violence against women!
5.Jackie O. Proved that First Ladies can do things, by restoring the White House and making a breakthrough on Foreign Policy. Not to mention a Fashion Icon.
6.Carol Burnett. One of the funniest people ever to walk the earth. Brought comedy to television with her own show.
7.Diablo Cody. The best thing to ever come out of a phone sex operation. Worked her way from stripper gone phone sex operator to crafty blogger to Academy Award Winner for a little screenplay you may have heard of, Juno.
8.Eva Peron (Evita). Started multiple charity groups in Argentina, her first consisting of 87 women not only raising money to help poor and homeless children but also proving women have power to change.
9.Ellen DeGeneres. 11 Emmys. Stand Up Comedian. Her own show. Dory. Portia De Rossi. I'm just sayin...
10.Idina Menzel. Everything she plays on Broadway is a) a HIT and b) proving women kick ass. Nuff said.
11.Sandra Day O'Connor. First woman to serve as associate justice on US Supreme Court.
12.Princess Diana. Princess of Wales and huge contributor in the fight against AIDS.
13.Gloria Steinem. Women's Rights Advocate. Exposed how women were treated at clubs by being dressed as a playboy bunny.
14.Hillary Clinton. Ok, I know I voted for Obama, but still, Hill rocks. She fights for health care and children's education, and Bill plays a mean sax.
15.Rosa Parks. I'm sorry sir, why don't you go sit back there?
16.Kristi Yamaguchi. How could I leave out my favorite figure skater? Won the Olympics the same year she won Worlds and the US Championship.
17.Madonna. I don't care what you say. No one reading this has not at least once sang, danced, tapped their foot, had anomous sex,or whatever'd to a Madonna song. And liked it. Also, she's a smart business woman. She has a hand in everything, including clothes at H&M. To quote Lauren Graham, actress extraordinare: "If Madonna has the time to sew you a dress, you should buy it."
18.Alicia Keys. Besides her soulful sound and her piano skills I wish I had, Alicia Keys helps support children who have a passion for music by raising money so they can learn to play instruments.
19.Erin Brokovich. Legal clerk and environmental activist potrayed by Julia Roberts. Won a $28 billion case against Pacific Gas & Electric in California.
20.Aretha Franklin. The Queen of Soul. R-E-S-P-E-C-T, I probably don't need to say more, except for the fact that we all wish we could sing like Aretha.
21.Coco Chanel. Here's some sports apparel and mens clothing... why don't we take this and put in a women's fashion line and make it look sophisticated. Thats Chanel, and thats why she's one of the greatest fasion icons ever.
22.Bette Midler. Besides being hilarious and a great singer, she started a non profit organization dedicated to restoring neglected neighborhoods of New York City.
23.Ellen Page. Besides playing one of the most honest character's America has ever seen (Juno MacGuff) Ellen Page continues to make a difference through the U.S Campaign for Burma, trying to end military dictatorship in Burma.
24.Reese Witherspoon. Totally Sweet. Remained classy in her public divorce from Ryan Phillipe, and manages to make quality films with hits like Legally Blonde- where she kicked ass and took names as Elle Woods, and Walk the Line , which got her an Oscar for her performance as June Carter Cash.
25.Laura Bell Bundy. Brought Elle Woods to Broadway in Legally Blonde: The Musical- which gives blondes everywhere vindication. Definition of the triple threat. Founder of the Kreative Kids Foundation, bringing the arts to children.
